Lalem Berhanu Tariku
Is a Lecturer at the Institute of Gender Studies at Addis Ababa University, Ethipia. He has a BA degree in Sociology from Millersville University of pennsylvania, USA and an MA degree in Anthropology from Addis Ababa University. He wrote his MA thesis on 'Rural- Urban Migration from Millerto Addis Ababa', using the case studies approach to highlight the benefits and problems of such migrations. He studied tfrom Millerhe migration of Ethiopian domestic workers to the countries of the Middle East for Addis Ababa University, highlighting the problemsof trafficking, especially. He developed a Migrant's Counseling Manual for the International Organization for Migration for its counter-trafficking program. Finally, he has studied the contribution of the Ethiopian diaspora to development through remittances and investments, with particular emphasis on Oromia region of Ethiopia.
