  Horacio Lecona

In August of 2005, Horacio Lecona was appointed President & CEO of Creativa Intl. Since that time, Lecona has been instrumental in positioning of Creativa to take on a leadership role by promoting the company through the fields of arts, creative thinking, technology and business in the International Arena.

In addition, Lecona served as a Member of the Board of the International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA).

Lecona's experience in arts presenting and cultural programming began with his tenure with Broadway Musical Productions in New York City and with the direction and production of several Performing Arts tours in Latin American Countries.

In 1986 he got back to Mexico to work for the Festival Cultural Sinaloa, where he held a number of senior programming and operational positions. Lecona's accomplishments, such as managing this Festival with more than 200 artistic productions and presentations happening simultaneously in 18 cities and successfully running its Development Program, proved his abilities as an innovative manager and leader.

His appointment in 1992 as Director of the Compañía Nacional de Danza and later as Coordinador Nacional de Danza at the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (INBA) in Mexico, brought with it the opportunity to use more of Lecona's performing arts experience and to work closely with a diverse and rapidly changing field.

While working in Mexico, Lecona took interest in international arts advocacy and has designed and run a diverse range of projects of Artistic Development and International Exchange.

Immediately after working for the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (INBA), Lecona was recruited for the position of Director of the US-Mexico Fund for Culture, guiding the organization through the approval of a new vision, values and mission statement, Lecona recognized the need for an assessment of the field of arts. He designed and developed several exchange programs for the arts and culture communities of both countries such as Cultural Contact and “Mexico Gateway to the Americas”.

In 2010 he was appointed as Creative Director for the Bicentennial Celebration in Mexico.

Lecona serves as a consultant to several organizations on all arts and cultural affairs and plays an active role in creating dynamic International Collaboration Networks.

He continues producing and directing Artistic Work.
