Work experience

From July 2012 - currently - United Nations Development Programme,Joint EU-UN Migration and Development Initiative. Intern - taking care of knowledge management, social media communication, organisation of events and competitions, attending and reporting on conferences, revision and editing of publications, newsletters, drafting concept notes for second phase of the JMDI, preparing presentations, updating website and creating new website content and other administrative and logistical tasks as assigned daily.

From October 2011 to June 2012 - Paid intern in Province of Barcelona Government External Relations Department (Diputacion de Barcelona) Support in drawing up project concept notes and proposals and project management for calls for proposals of the EU for third countries, research on immigration policies and gender violence in Latin America and Africa, support in managing applications for proposals, support in revision of funding justifications for calls for proposals.

From October 2011 to currently Catalan Commission for Refugee Aid (Comissió Catalana d’Ajut al Refugiat) Volunteer - Labour insertion tasks with refugees, asylum seekers and immigrants and organisation of events, updating website, organisation of courses, administrative tasks.

From October 2010 to currently Freelance translator and proof-reader Translation, proof-reading, linguistic consulting for independent M&E experts for the European Commission, UNESCO Catalonia,

From October 2010 to currently Human Rights Institute of Catalonia Tutor for Human Rights Course and Course Coordinator For the first year, a paid intern as course coordinator and now tutor and creator of teaching materials and assessments for the module on the Human Rights Bases Approach in Development for the 4 month online course on Human Rights for Development Actors.

From September 2010 to October 2011 Head of technical area, Spain/Ecuador (International Association for Spanish Medics)- Design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects, coordination, revision and monitoring of working groups’ projects and programmes, give training on Project Management Cycle, Human Rights Based Approach to technical officers, basic introductory training in International Development Aid for new volunteers and oversee the reformulation of the website.

From September to February 2011 UNESCO Centre for Catalonia Volunteer - Creating content for the website of the International Network for Interfaith Mediation, translation and proof-reading and collaboration in the organisation of an International Conference of Interfaith Mediation and Exchange of Good Practices. I have also carried out similar work for the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund, Scottish Inter Faith Council and Amnesty International Catalona)
