Iker Barbero Gonzalez
Después de mi maestría en el Instituto Internacional de Sociología Jurídica (2003/2004) terminé un doctorado en Derecho por la Universidad del País Vasco (marzo de 2010). Mi tesis, titulada "Hacia nuevos modelos de ciudadanía: un análisis socio-legal del movimiento Sinpapeles", miró a las luchas de los inmigrantes indocumentados que tuvieron lugar en Barcelona en 2001, y sus implicaciones. El uso de prácticas ciudadanas alternativas hizo que los sinpapeles se convirtieran en sujetos de la legalidad. Recientemente he ganado una beca postdoctoral (2010-2013), otorgada por la Fundación Vasca para la Ciencia Ikerbasque, para unirse al proyecto oecumene CCIG. También soy profesor de estudios de grado y posgrado en las Facultades de Derecho y Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad del País Vasco (UPV-EHU). Desde 2007, soy editor general de Sortuz, The Journal of Emergent Socio-legal Studies.
After my MA at the International Institute for the Sociology of Law (2003/2004) I completed a PhD in Law at the University of the Basque Country (March 2010). My thesis, titled ?Towards new models of citizenship: a socio-legal analysis of the Sinpapeles movement?, looked at the struggles of undocumented immigrants that took place in Barcelona in 2001, and its implications. The use of alternative citizenship practices made the sinpapeles (sans papiers) become subjects of legality. I have recently won a Postdoctoral grant (2010-2013), given by the Basque Foundation for Science IKERBASQUE, to join Oecumene Project at the CCIG. I am also lecturer in graduate and postgraduate studies at the Faculties of Law and Social Sciences of the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU). Since 2007, I am general editor of Sortuz, the Journal of Emergent Socio-legal Studies.
